Quite a few of the people here are more into function rather than seeing how low they can get their MINI to ride. I am one of them, I gave up on the show car route long ago... But there are plenty of MINI's on baggs, you just need to know where to look. Try Motoring Underground, they are mostly about style over trackability/functionality over there.

Rally@StanceDesign (that is NOT a link) has had a couple georgous MINIs on bags. He is or was a member here, and knows way more about that scene than I do. SlyCooper, another member is currently throwing his car on bags. There's manny more, but this just isnt the right forum.

Now if you want to see lowered with function (track/actual street) we can help.

I love when people freak out about stanced or ultra low cars. Just because something isn't your style doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it. When done correctly, a fully dumped car can be very drivable still. Im starting to love Salad Shooters on R56 setups. This is the 3rd one I've seen recently and they're all amazing. Though I think most of the drops pictured in this thread are static and not bagged...

Personally, I like the bagged look. Just not a feasible daily driver and yes, I would rather bag my 1968 Sedan DeVille than my Mini, but that is just me...

At the end of the day, it is YOUR car. Make sure YOU like it!

I think the ability to change the ride height a little with flip of a switch would be nice.Say maybe two inches.

VW Vortex is a totally different universe... lol

Being bagged is what makes those cars daily drivers. A fairly normal ride height at full bags and then dump the bags to hit the ground. I have much more respect for people who daily drive static drops that rival the drop of bags. The old "Bags are for groceries" mentality...

Nice. "No, you are!"

Based on what? You're being rude and arrogant because you don't like how total strangers modify the suspension on cars you will never have to drive. He pointed out that you should stop being an ***.

Cars are meant to be driven.. not to make undriveable - if driving means going 5mph in your world then kudos.. it's the same crap that is spoiling the enthusiast world.

well the whole point of airbags is so that you can have the car at drive able height when you're driving and then lower it when you want to have that "stanced" look.

Now THERE are the three sane words in this thread. Bagged cars have a purpose, but IMHO, bagged MINIs do not.

Yeah, that still doesn't justify your rudeness, or explain how someone calling you out on it makes them the jackass.

I happen to value performance over flash, and I'm installing ST coilovers to that end, but I also respect anyone who wants to modify their car to whatever ends they desire.

Right... I don't usually argue with 16yr olds but I'm not sure which enthusiast world you're talking about. There are many facets to this hobby and it's not limited to people in pursuit of the fastest corner. Rat rods have been bagging their cars for ages. Does that make them any less of an "enthusiast"? I'm sure those folks in Concours D'Elegance who crawl their precious cars to the shows are not enthusiasts either.

Work on a better argument than "look in the mirror." I'm sorry if I offended you for pointing out your rude comments. I didn't think someone who talks so much crap would be so sensitive.

I am not sure who you think is 16yr old. Obviously you with your "try a better argument" might still be in high school keep plugging away there and maybe you will earn more than min wage sometime.

Concours D' Elegance are not the same as a bagged Mini -they are restored cars.. obviously you've never been or you would realize that. A show car is like a designer dress - great to look at but in most cases impractical, if I want something to look at I'll buy a painting. I am not offended by your comment, so don't waste a thought about it. BTW I saw that 'bagged R53 with the white wheels in the flesh and I stand by my thoughts - it looks like crap - I also followed it at highway speeds and it does not sit in a stable manner on the road - it bobs around.. nice to do that to a car and make all the engineering that went into the car just go FLUSH down the drain.

We can keep talking crap about each other on the Internet and at the end of the day nobody wins. Bottom line is, it's all a matter of respect. Some people like certain things and while I'm not one to bag my car, it doesn't entitle me to shoot people down for it. I'm sure you didn't go up to that person that owns the bagged mini with white wheels and tell him infront of his face that his car looks like crap. Only thing people are asking is to extend the same politeness and courtesy you might extend in real life on the Internet. Many forums nowadays are a complete turn off for this very reason and this one has managed to maintain a certain level of decency that many of us have come to expect. Express your opinion in a civil way and you might find that many of us would be receptive to it and and may even agree with you.

BTW - I would give my left nut to be back in high school. Would be much more simpler than raising a family with two kids.

Ahh yeah, looking at that photo in context, you're right! The signature on it should have tipped me off.

Yup. Otherwise known as salad shooters. They have a 5x120 bolt pattern but mountable on MINI's due to the high offset, allowing you to use adapters. They're relatively cheap at around $500 for the set but you will have to find a set that are not staggered.

I drive mine everyday like this..drive it like I stole it (well..not right now...its in storage for 7 more months)....I have driven it like this for the past 6 years as a DD so I dont know what most of you are talking about. Mine is form AND function. As you can see.....or cant see....there is no sunlight through the fornt. And I high centered the car going down a 2" slope in my drive. I had to pull it UP the drive with a tow strap.... . Now Im not as low as some but I think with rockin 18's and the exhaust is an inch from scrapping the ground...I dont do too bad....
