Suspension 215/45 to 225/45 OK?
225 45 17 on 2011 Cooper S
We have two 2011 Mini Cooper S” (auto and manual) with sport packages, I pulled off the 205 45 17’s run flats continental's on both in the first 100 miles and replaced them with 225 45 17’ Bridgestone 760’s (Sect. width 8.9”, tread Width 8.3 Overall Diam 25”) Tire are mounted on the factory 17 X 7 rims, (one with Conical Spoke and the other with Black Star bullet)
▅ We have much more traction over stock in rain or shine
▅ Substanuly improved ride quality with less road noise
▅ Speedo’s now show true speed (checked with GPS)
▅ We get better MPG’s on the highway and the same in the city
▅ They do not rub with full compression (even on the track) and fill the wheel wells nicely

It's a cheep summer tire named Federal Super Steel 595 215/45 17
https://www.tiresavings.com/tireShop...season=Regular
They are rubbing in the front pretty hard. The plastic fenders are wearing away (I'll add a picture tomorrow). There was no rubbing using the same rims , springs and the stock Contintental 205/45/17 run flats. I think I will go back to 205's next time. I take function over looks any day. These tires appear to be a small step backward if you are coming from Continental RF's and a big step forward if you are coming from Dunlop RF's.
