advice request about tire purchase (size/brand) for 17" Flik Wasp
I'm set on ordering the 17" Flik Wasp wheels from edgeracing.com. That said, I'm not sure about tires.
I've recently discovered that I don't have to stick with 205/45/17 that EdgeRacing.com recommends, I could go with 215/45 or 215/40. From reading on here, I realize the following:
* 205/45: provide limited selection, more expensive tires
* 215/40: issues with comfort, ride quality, etc. Sometimes issues with rubbing.
* 215/45: there are some rubbing issues. No real issues with ride comfort.
I'm thinking of going 215 instead of 205, which Edgeracing.com recommends, for price and selection.
Questions:
* Why doesn't edgeracing recommend 215's them? Solely because of rubbing?
* Will going with a particular tire size (say 215/45) limit my future suspension modifications?
* Pros and Cons of 215/45?
* Pros and Cons of 215/40?
That said, here is a link to all available tires in each size:
* 205/45
* 215/40
* 215/45
Anyone see a great tire for street with the occasional Auto-X in either 215/40 or 215/45?
My gut it telling me to go with Toyo Proxes 4 in 215/45
Thanks again everyone!

I have the 215/35's on my 18s with no rubbing. So i would assume that a 215/40 would be the same size as mine, because of the wheel size. Mine dont run at all. I would go with the lower profile because the handleing was better. I would also go with the widest tire, because of the greater contact path.
