If alignments didn't cost so much, I would pull my springs for evaluation.

you shouldn't need to perform an alignment if you're not changing any settings.

Talked to Way yesterday and he has made things right with me. Having come from a racing/fabrication background, i understand how things like this can arise. It happened to me in my business. What matters is service after the sale. From our conversation it sounds like they are getting this spring issue sorted out. Although I am not currently running TSW springs, I will continue to do business with WMW and would run TSW coils in the future.

So what exactly is wrong with the springs? And are they offering replacements for anyone with the problem?

Way Hooked me UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had my 2011 put on a set of TSW's and it looks AWESOME! Way did an excellent job and the ride is perfect. When you are in Atlanta, get your MINI on over to Way Motor Works!

1st Gen section......you have a 2011? Umm ok.....Although I agree with you, Way provides great service as I have bought all my parts from him...

What about the TSW "lift" spring issue? Fixed for the 1st Gen TSW springs?

I was ready to buy some TSWs but a QC issue from the spring maker prevented this...is it fixed? Do the 1st Gen guys have the green light to buy TSWs again without fear of an incease of ride height?

Is the TSW spring height variation limited to 1st Gen or a certain batch? Has it been resolved? I was thinking of the TSW springs but.....

I dunno now....

I still haven't installed the replacement set of fronts Way kindly provided. I can say though they measure exactly the same unloaded so I hope the replacements have more 'give' and actually lower the car to the published spec of 5/8" to 3/4".

What are you waiting for? Are you the only one that received a replacement?

Hmm after seeing this I thought I was the only one, though I got mine back in April 2010. Put em on my 2006 that July and the front and rear looked off. I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me as I knew it would drop the back more as thats how they were advertised, but the front did and still does look higher than it was with the stock springs. Didn't worry too much as I was planning on coilovers before the end of this year. Good to see Way is making it right though.

First and foremost, I have a lot of other things on my plate right now.
Secondly, I have this bad feeling that I might end up with the same right height issue and then it'll be another wasted payment to have them installed. Yes, I could try to install myself but then if I get ride height issues the blame might be on installation. Kind of a catch 22 for me but eventually, I will install them...unless of course someone wants to buy these springs off me

Reading this thread over I am leaning more towards coilovers than screwing around with shocks and these springs.

I see what you mean. If I had to pay someone to install them, I wouldn't even do it either. I do my own installs, and I don't even think it would be worth my time and $50 for another alignment.

Thats the boat I'm in. Its not worth the hassle to pull them out of the car and get a new alignment at this point. I like the way the car handles and feels but not a fan of the way it looks with the front higher than the back. I'll likely pull them out eventually, maybe when something good hits the market that works well with the FSDs.

I dont think that is what redbull was getting at.

"What about the TSW "lift" spring issue? Fixed for the 1st Gen TSW springs?"

Update

So we are currently waiting on our manufacture to make us some replacement sets of front springs for the few sets that have the ride height issue. We found a problem that was actually pretty simple just wire size was off slightly. We are hounding them to get them done asap, but unless I bend them myself I can't make them any faster. We will let those involved know as soon as we have them.

YES this problem is only with Gen 1 MINI's not with our R56 TSW springs.

I don't think anybody is saying anything bad Way or his products. I've bought from him more than once and am definitely happy with the products and service. I even talk about how well the TSW springs handle and feel. However, there is a problem with them; they do not lower up front. So that has to be talked about.

This is very good to hear. I appreciate your hard work and service. I anxiously wait to hear more details. I have a couple questions:

Will the front spring rate be lowered with thinner wire?

Was there only one batch that has the problem? Or all V.3?

Could no wait.

I thought I would put a period on my part of this story.

I could not wait any longer for the corrected TSW springs to be manufactured, so my defective springs have gone back to Way Motor Works. I replaced them with H&R Premium Street Performance springs (green) sourced from Tire Rack.

Below is a picture of my car with the new springs mounted. The car is riding on 215/40/17's that are worn almost slick. There are IE fixed camber plates (new with the H&R springs) up front, & Hotchkis adjustable control arms in the rear(before alignment).

Sorry, guys. Duplicate post due to delay on the first one showing up.

When these are ready, how do I get new fronts with the proper wire size?
