Koni Sport yellows ?

I keep waivering between TSW springs and stock ones. I do need to pick shocks soon.
Do the Koni yellow Sports beat you up, or can you set them a turn up from softest setting and be happy in your daily driver? I have had Billy sports and they are a bit stiff. I'm trying not to beat my self and spouse up since its my primary beach trip driver(3 hours).
I'm tired of skipping accross the pavement with the stock shocks.

TSW and Koni yellows seem to be way better than the stock suspension for me. It's more compliant, seems to offer better wheel control. Put a 19MM rear anti roll bar on and call it done.

I have the Koni Sport kit on my R50.
Rides like a dream.
Front, 2 clicks from the softest setting
Rear, 2 clicks from the hardest setting
I'm running the Koni blue springs.
You will like the ride.

How are your Koni yellows adjusted? In case you did not notice my mod line in my sig, I have already got the 19mm rsb.

I had the yellows installed with the stock springs ('02 R53) a little over a year ago. This was the recommended setup by the shop I work with for a DD with the occasional track day. I was told that they adjusted the shocks to 5 of 8 turns/clicks. It drives great on the track as well as on the road. The streets here in Northern California aren't the best, but I have no complaints with the yellows for the day to day setup.

I have also been thinking about a spring update, and TSW seems to be one of the good options. I wonder what the consensus is on the best springs for Koni yellows?

Might want to look at Koni FSD's staying with stock springs for the best ride as we did. And ditch the run flats.........

+1. This could be the sweet spot setup for any Mini. Compliant, controlled, and very driveable to the limit.

Really happy with my Koni Yellows on my R53. Usually have them 1/2 turn from full soft and they ride well on the crappy suburban roads of MD.

I've been dogsitting in the city of Baltimore for the past 2 weeks and turned the fronts down to full soft. The ride is fantastic, much better than stock on those ultra crappy roads. On full soft they handle better than stock, and my usual 1/2 turn setting does add a nice edge on top of that.

I'm using Tein H-tech springs (not available for R56) which have a super mild drop of 10 or so mm....I'd suggest picking a spring with a super mild drop for the R56.

All that said, I'm a Bilstein fan that just happened to get a good deal on Konis. The Bilstein HDs might be a good choice for your uses. I'm not tempted by Koni FSDs (too soft for me).

Yea, except that the FSD's aren't supposed to be used with lowering springs.

Go ahead, ask Koni...

Yup if you search, there's a few threads discussing this topic in the past already.

! I'm running the Yellows with NM springs and am having waay too much fun with them. The Yellows are designed to handle a 1-2" drop and with the NM 1.2" drop I have no bottoming issues at all. The adjustment they offer is for rebound only, not compression. I have 1.5 turns on the front and zero on the rears. This gives me a comfortable ride and a big improvement in all around handling over the OEM set up.
