Compatibility issue with M7 strut J Bar with 2011 MCS R56 model

For those who are interested in purchasing M7 Strut brace/ J bar, HOLD OFF from purchasing the product yet. Even though it says it works with 2011 R56, it won't fit perfectly as the bar rubs with the stock air intake for 2011 model.

I was just there to M7 main office today to purchase that, and found out it doesn't quite fit nicely. They said they would be working to adjust the bar so that it will go well with 2011 model so.. I will update you for more info when I get a call from M7.

Is this specific to the JCW Stage 1 as your description seems to imply it does not fit all 2011 MCS?

I haven't installed JCW stage 1 yet.
it basically sits on the top of hose that connects Airi intake. so whether you have JCW or MCS (2011), current M7 bar will give you issues (rubbing).

They said they will address that issue for 2011 models with their engineer and would give me a call once it is being addressed.

how long do we have to wait?

It seams like there is not many aftermarket parts available right now.
intake, heat shield, strut and more other parts are not compadible with 2011 Mini. what drivetrain mod can I do right now??
I was going to get M7 STB this weekend how long do we have to wait for variety choice of aftermarket parts?

It took M7 about two years to get their j-bar out for the JCW Stage 1. I waited so long, I bought the under body strut brace instead.

I have an R55 S with the dealer JCW upgrade. I bought the J bar knowing that it is supposed to fit the JCW intake the best, and to help from the mushrooming issue i am recovering from in my car. It fits fine with about an inch of room. HOWEVER when putting the car into reverse and coming off the clutch and on the gas slowly, the reverse motion shifts the engine forward and vibrates the intake cover against the M7 bar. A bit annoying...I'll have to call tomorrow and see what's up with that. If there isn't anything that can be done about it, I'll probably put some foam on the side of the bar so you don't hear the disturbing sound it makes..
