Rear coilover fitment question

Hello!

I have FK AK coilovers - just fited them a few days back.

They are budget, but good enough for what i want.

I'm having a problem with the rears, as they are making a noise when driving - even on flat ground.

I think i may have put them together incorrectly so could someone please post up what way i should have re-assembled them?

I currently have them as so:

nut
original OEM mini top mount
original OEM mini bushes
FKcoilover top spring mount
FK small washer

Did i need to also use the large black metal piece that i havent mentioned above?

Cheers

Within the OEM bushings is a spacer that goes over the shaft...did you install that?

It should go:

Nut
OEM cupped washer
OEM bushing
OEM Top Mount
OEM bushing (with inner sleeve that Rally mentioned above)
and them whatever FK provided underneath that. The small washer that they provided, is it just a thin washer, or is it a thicker spacer?

It is probably likely that the spacer that FK provided goes between the nut at the top and the OEM cupped washer. Though there should be a washer between the nut and the FK provided spacer. My Cross coilovers are the same way.

Does that make sense?

just been and re-built the suspension, greased everything up so it was all friction free and still makes the noise.

the order i am actually putting them together in is:

nut
curved nut
bush
top mount
bush
(metal bushing between those 2 bushes^^)
FK spring cup mount
FK washer thing

Still got the noise :(

I have noticed however, that the bottom of the shock mount hole is slightly larger than the diameter of the 21mm bolt holding it on... is there a difference between R50/R53?

Spooled, the bottom FK washer has a little recess in to accommodate the top of the shaft so that should stay where it is i think.

Are you using an impact wrench on the top nut to make sure it is secure? If it's not all the way tight, then there will be play, and you'll get a clank. As for the bottom bolt, how much bigger are we talking? There is no difference between R50/R53. Obviously, if there is a lot of play there, you'll get a clank.

I have realised I haven't used the original spacer provided by MINI - its about 3mm thick.

I can't remember where this come from and could be the cause of the problem!

Any ideas?

Thanks
