Wow, I'd never seen a rear brace for the R56 before. Can't comment on it from experience but that front brace looks first rate. Only prob for me is it doesn't look like it'd clear the ALTA CAI.

It look like it would attach right above where the rear seats attach...I'm waiting for front strut brace by ddmworks. I called a couple days ago they said it'd probably be ready to ship at the end of January. I also called M7 they said they are coming out with a front strut brace and a rear chassis brace for the r56.

The JCW strut brace will clear the Alta intake though...I have both.

That's what I was thinking...and that you put the back seats either down or in the vertical position.....you guys don't think you could have a rear strut brace and have the back seats all the way back, could you?

Or it could mount to the rear seat connectors then rear seats connect to the brace?

I just checked what that area looks like in my car, and the bracket where the rear seats hook into has two bolts bolting it to the chassis....it probably bolts up to those two bolts.....I'm definitely getting it though

I don't know if I want to get that, save on to my cash get the alta intercooler, or wait for the M7 rear chassis brace, because it'll attach to the rear seat bracket and the floor bracket like the one for the R53. I just ordered the H-sport sport rear sway bar. It dosent ship out til the 26th.

If you get it let me know how it works for you!

Ya, I read that the JCW brace clears, just not sure about the other ones out there. For my purposes it would be a purely 'bling' mod anyway as I don't track my MINI at all. So it's still a good way down the line...
Thanks!

Anyone who has/had a rear strut brace from Racing Dynamics care to comment on it....I'd like to hear what previous owners have to say.

You should ask in the 1st gen section to see how it worked for the R53.

how did it install? Any closeup photos for us? do you think that it would be easy to remove for extra room or any quick release?
Thanks.

That's awesome!

I'm still waiting for my swaybar. I ordered it 12 days ago, they called me the 21st said it'd ship the 26th then I called they said the 28th then today. Yet no e-mail that it shipped. I'm thinking I should see if I can cancel.

Install is super easy. You just remove the factory brackets that the back seats lock into up top(remove 2 bolts). Then it's just installing the new seat brackets(2 bolts)(so you can still put the rear seats up) and attaching the brace to both sides(1 bolt each side). You can easily just pull the brace off; just need to remove 2 bolts(1 from each side) and that's it, so like 30seconds

It definitely is a nice improvement....I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much it help the turning center thru exit of turns....definitely worth the $220ish

I got it today. Put it on around 1pm. Took it through the twisties on a very "spirited" drive. There is definitely an improvement and it looks sick as you said in my sway bar thread!
