18" rims with 225 tires
Hey guys. I posted a similar thread over in wheels/tires but I don't think it got the right kind of attention.
I probably didn't ask the right questions either.
Anyway, I am thinking of putting a set of 225/35 tires on some 18x8 rims I got for free.
The car is lowered on TSW springs. Does anyone have practical experience with this tire size and suspension setup?
I have the adjustable lower rear arms on order and was thinking I may be able to get everything to tuck if I get the adjustable upper arms as well and pull the whole assembly in a bit.
Just wondered if anyone had practical first-hand experience with this setup.

What is the offset on the wheels? The TSW springs offer a very mild drop, even more-so than the H-Sports. I had 215/35/18 on 18x7.5 SSR Comps (ET42) with H-Sports and only got rubbing on big dips in the road with a full car. By the way, same goes on my S-Lites with 215/40/17, no biggie.
Offset aside, because the drop is very mild, it'll work. So go for it.

Should be fine as long as the offset is 40 to 45.

As of now I'm running 225/40/18 on my stock suspension. It does rub the fenderwells over bumps or with a load in the back. I want to lower with TSW springs and switch back to 225/35/18 tires.
I'd like to stop the rubbing. I've tried cutting the fender but it still rubs. Would lower control arms fix this? My wheels have a 42 offset. Thanks.

My car is currently on jack stands since I am waiting on my axle to get shipped back to me. But I will post pics as soon as I can.
It does rub pretty bad since the tires do have good tread on them. It seems like its rubbing on the metal fender behind the plastic trim because its cutting the edge of the tires. I have 77k miles on my suspension.

This picture you can see where it's cutting into the tire. This tire has been on the rear, as I have recently rotated them.

Both, but the rear is more noticeable. The fronts are just rubbing on the wheel arcs, as the rears are rubbing on the wheel arcs and the fender well. Since I can't get a picture of the car on the ground, a good reference is there are two finger-widths from the tire to all four wheel arcs.

Hey guys.
Got my rims on. They're ADR M Sports (43 offset), 18x7.5 inch rims.
I put 225/40/18 tires on them as well. Hankook Ventus Evo's, if that matters.
No rubbing issues as of yet, and the clearance seems pretty good. I'm running the stock MCS sport suspension.
I can see how it would rub at full compression, this is obvious. But I rarely have any cargo other than a few groceries and such + myself, so I don't see how rubbing is going to be anything close to a major issue.
In any case, I got some pics for you guys to see.
There's plenty of pics for you guys to digest. If you have any questions or any close up pic requests, just let me know.

There's actually plenty of room to trim the metal part of the fender/wheel well and get the plastic trim back on, which of course covers all that up..
Rolling it is good but if need be there is probably an inch +- that could be trim completely off and then roll that..
A few of the cars above don't appear to be lowered any so of course they are not having an rubbing issues as they shouldn't be..
My car is on Megan Coliovers and sits pretty low. I used to run 215-35-18's and on 1 set of tires I did get alittle rubbing in the rear with passengers, currently running 215-45-17's with no rubbing yet..
As you'll notice some tires are taller/wider then others in the same size so while 1 tire may not rub another may...
