Heads up: Oil Leakage and Worn Control Arm Bushings

“there are a lot of MINIs leaking oil and have worn suspension components i.e. control arm bushings that the dealers can't do anything about unless the customers complain about it... ”

Found this in my spam mail. My MINI checks out ok. Just thought you might want to have the heads up. Can’t vouch for the source. But it makes sense generally. I hardly ever expected the dealership to find problems i did not report. However, if the problem is as prevalent as the language suggests, then maybe it should be addressed.

Is this for R56 or earlier models? Got any more information, other than a claim in a SPAM?

too mini related to call truly spam. anyone else got this to confirm. Just passing along cuz sounds honest to me.

also no idea how it applies, but older than r56 is my guess.

well i had my oil pan gasket go at 70,000km (i dont know what mileage that'd be), but replaced under warranty as we get 80,000km or 4 years on it... so could be true in terms of the oil leak

as for bushings, ive had none go on me other than the top strut mounts, which i guess is not really a bushing at all

Being specific is a SPAM tactic. Out of the million they send out, it is going to match someone. So, more likely to sucker those people in.

Funny, i've never had spam with my car as bait before. I'm thinking this was merely sent by someone not in my address book or so on. I've sent a reply but have not had any response. I may have jumped the gun in repeating it here, but i thought it could be coroborated.

Be a little early for the 56's to be reporting suspension failures wouldn't it?

thank you sincerely, minihune.

not my intention to place it in an r56 forum, just the haste you'll witness from the first post and onward.

I have thoughts that my control arm bushings are worn. While driving, when I hit some bumps in the road I hear a light rattlin or jingling noise coming from the front drivers side tire and the rear drivers side tire. Am I safe to assume this is the control arm bushings? Thanks
