Hey Kevin,

I was just mimicking a commercial where a guy is selling a hair loss secret potion.

I got to USE my Fumoto valve for the first time a few weeks ago. The install is a snap but this thing really makes changing your oil easier. No more fumbling with the bolt and getting oil down your arm. It really is very nice and well worth the $20 to me.

I have the washer that came with the Fumoto installed and it's leaking oil. Next time I change my oil I'm going to have to take the valve off and put a new washer on there. Fortunately, I'll be able to drain the oil before removing the valve, so I'll still avoid the oil up my sleeve thing.

Just ordered two Fumoto F-106 N (Nipple) valves for a friend and I. One step closer to total laziness by eliminating the transfer of old oil from drain pan to waste oil jugs.
I hated that part the most, it would almost put me into Procrastination mode, the mess and cleanup, especially during Winter.
1. no funnel needed
2. no drain pan needed
3. eureka

I installed mine on the first change as a safety measure; since I had read that the threads of the original plug are easily stripped. No complaints whatsoever 12 months later.

Easy,

J

I've been tossing the idea of buying a Fumoto valve, but I'm curious if anyone with a dropped MINI is running this? I'm concerned the valve getting hit whenever I bottom out since it looks like the valve extends further downward relative to where the tranny sits.

I don't think this is the case. Install the Fumoto drain valve with the lever on top (up side of the oil pan drain hole) and the valve is not lower than the stock bolt and still above the bottome of the oil pan...

Great... that's the kinda info I'm looking for... thanks! Would that be the case for the valve with the nipple as well?

Yes; the nipple will be horizontal to the ground pointing to the rear of the car.

Plenty of clearance. If you're scraping the lower front airdam lip on speed bumps, you aren't going to hit the Fumoto valve yet, unless you've trimmed the lip away and are now dragging the tranny, lol.

I'm lowered, and right now on 15's while my 17's get painted, and I drag on everything--speed bumps, driveways, and I'm not dragging my Fumoto valve. =)

Just remember you can't use the Fumoto if you have the oem oil temp gauge installed. The sending unit is in the stock drain plug.

So, if you have the chrono pack does that mean no Fumoto?

Not sure. But you could take a look at the drain plug and see if it is plugged in............
