Shifting difficulty

I've been having to use excessive force to shift up or down when under 4k and have even been getting the worng gears as a result, up above 4k and can find which ever gear I want with ease. Any thoughts?

Do you have a short shifter? If so, remove the shifter boot, and check to see if the shifter mechanism that moves the delrin/nylon shift thingys is threaded in completely. Mine came out and messed up the shift until I threadlocked it and it works just fine.

cheers,

My brake fluid is royally shot (going to be bleeding within the month) do you think I just need to bleed the clutch while I'm at it? Or do I need to hurry into the dealer before my warranty is up?

If it's under warranty I sure would take it in. Symptoms sound very much like my Saturn SL2 when the slave cyclinder went out. Was $288 to replace the thing 7 years ago, so paying up to replace it on a Mini has to be at least $500. Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but the slave cylinder should be maintenance-free, if you have to mess with it at all it is bad.

HAHA 46k and counting, I've been fighting for an appointment for the past week or so, Monday is going to be a day of reckoning, my list is growing steadily

They bled my brakes way ahead of schedule as a courtesy to me this summer when they did my oil (it took me a week to figure out why the pedal felt different lol) and I had them bled 3 months before that, it still needed it (though there was a track dday in the middle there so I know that had something to do with it)

Just in case you were wondering I'm going in for:
  • Oil pan plug overtourqued by dealer
  • intermittent shifting difficulty under ~3.5k-4k RPM
  • rough idle on warm engine
  • flywheel clicking (I've been complaining about it for months I've been around enough MINIs this summer to know it is NOT normal )
  • I've had one semi leaky motor mount I moght bring that up
  • Power steering fan noise for extended time after engine shut off and switch to alternator
  • I had a throttle body issue I'll probably mention to see if they have any ideas (I have the codes it threw) but that went away on its own
  • And my clutch and brake pedals have worn holes into the firewall padding.
Thus far in my emails and contacts I've only mentioned the first one I'm sending another email Monday with everything, then I'm calling them in the afternoon if they still down respond.
