Look on eBay, there are good prices there.

And surprisingly, Kohlweis Auto in Redwood City, CA carries it for about the same price. but that would be quite a drive for you. When I was in a pinch and didn't know about them, some parts store charged me more than $13 a quart! Yikes!

Redline oil at Baxter

I get my Redline oil at Baxter auto parts store. They also carry Royal Purple, for those who swing that way...

Try your local motorcycle dealer. My local Honda motorcycle dealer sells Redline. However, they don't stock 5-30 but they can special order it, 8.95 qt.

Good price. Even adding the cost of shipping, I would have saved a few bucks.

Another vote for Summit Racing

Summit Racing is the best place for anything car related. They even carry some MINI stuff.

Best prices, the pay out ALOT of contingency money to their racers, and customer service rocks. (In store at least, ive never had to order over the phone )

Kohweiss upped the price!

Now it's $8.95 a quart! Time for some $7 a quart stuff. Interesting though, Royal Purple was within a dime a quart of Mobil One! (about $5.50 a quart).

I just got my stuff from JSC Speed today. I also ordered a bottle of water wetter and a bottle of then SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner.

Does anyone have experience for either the Water Wetter or The SI-1. How much do you use? Is it safe?

It looks like I should use the whole bottle of Water Wetter.

Any advice on either product?

I use this and how it's used depends on your climate. If you'll never see freezing weather, use 1-2 bottles of water wetter, just enough anitifreeze to supress corrosion (~10%) and DISTILLED water to fill. If you see freezing temps, then the mixture of aitinfreeze goes up. Distilled water is important with Al motor parts (like the head) as it gets rid of lots of the stuff that can react with the aluminum. Some go as far as to use a sacrificial electrode that errodes easier than the AL....

In otherwords, dump the whole bottle in. The mix of AF/Water that is in my car is what is in it since the factory. So I am just adding the bottle to what is already there.

Anyone care to comment on the SI-1 Fuel system cleaner. I guess as much as I want to know how much to use, I would like to know if anyone knows of any reason I SHOULDN'T use this product.

My car is an 02 MCS and I figure that a little fuel system cleaner couldn't hurt.

I use the SL-1. Can't really comment on it's performance but I put a small dose in every couple tanks to keep the system clean. No ill side effects.

I got a case from the link above, $7 a quart, about $9 for shipping the whole case, and no sales tax....

But I've got a few miles before the next oil change.

But I also love immidiate gratification. If Kohlers had been $7.95, I would have bought there....

Why Redline?

Maybe a stupid question.... Please excuse my ignorance. I have seen it for years, but never actually research Redline. How does it compare to other synthetics out there incl Castrol, AMSOIL, Mobil 1, etc.?

Thanks for the info,

Ed

But you'll find that there are more opinions than fact. I use Red-Line in my Mini and Mustang, and Royal Purple or Mobil 1 in my MDX.

My preference for Red-Line is based on the race guys I know.... And the race car builders. But I haven't seen any quantitative evidence one way or the other.
