ok this is an odd on, anyone else?

so the other day i put my drivers seat all the way back for a little while with me in it. I went to put it back up to normal at some point and found that the back of it would not lock into the upright position. If i hit the gas hard i will fly into the back seat as it will just fall if im in it. If i hit the brakes hard, the back will move forward with me. It will lock in the layed back position still but thats it and the handle closest to the center of the car on the side of the chair seems to be kinda stuck and not connected to the one nearest the door. I look under the best i could and didnt see anything abnormal (without taking stuff apart). I dont feel like taking a ride to the dealer tomorow as im sooo busy, any ideas of whats up here? Anyone else have this happen b4? The only thing i can do is prop the seat up and hold on tight to the wheel haha. thanks

I may have had something similar happen once or twice getting passengers out the back seat. Not sure if the problem is the same, but I had to pull the seat adjustment levers and catches until the seat, in effect, reset it's mechanisms. I don't remember the sequence...I just palyed w/ it w/o forcing anything. Again, you might have a different problem.

I think you need to push the seatback all the way forward to reset the mechanism and then try setting the position.

...'02s and some '03s used to have some issues with the seatback mechanism needing replaced.

very nice, this is y i love NAM! I read the thread and go outside and try. I rock back and forth on the back rest and was having a hard time cause one of my knees is all bashed up and swollen from a fight(in the ring) and i couldnt put weight on it. So i got pissed off and didnt care if it broke so i shot a nice hard single leg takedown on the thing while holding the lever and pow the thing popped and i went half into the boot as my back seats were out. Got out of the trunk and tried the thing out. perfect, back to normal and works fine. Thanks guys for helping me fix my problem!!! without nam id be at the dealer in the morning instead of in bed
