Going in for service... any suggestions?

Well, at 8100 miles with 900 to go before service according to the OBC, I am taking the car to the dealer (Bob Smith) next Saturday. I have a week long road trip planned in two weeks and I am pretty sure I will pass that 900 mile mark easily enough. Here are the things I plan on having them do:

1. Reprogram the auto unlock on ignition on and sound alert on low fuel.
2. Address the scratches on my quarter windows. It is a Convertible.
3. Address the squeaks when putting up the roof.
4. Address the misaligned boot. (I understand a common problem with rag tops)
5. Replace a small trim panel in the rear that is missing. (No idea how that happened)
6. Address an occasional rattle from drivers seat-belt.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or useful tips? Does the first service cover anything besides an oil change? Anything in particular I should be looking out for?

Bring it on.

Jerry.

Well, I have something to suggest but I don't think it is along the lines of what you are looking for:

My suggestion with any service is to be sure you do a thorough walk around inspection of your car with your service advisor and get one of those sheets with the car on it marked off. Then when you pick up your car check it over closely and make sure there are no new scratches/dings/wheel rash or inside damage or whatnot.

Can you tell that I have had my cars damaged when in service before

Sorry if that isn't what you hoped

Actually, that's a great tip.

If you don't have any outstanding issues, what are you looking for? If it ain't broke... (be happy!)
Along those lines, you can tell them NOT to update your ECU to the latest rev if you aren't experiencing any ECU related issues. Many people have had a 'courtesy update' only to introduce flaws from the uprev code. That's about the only thing I can think of.

I was thinking more along the lines of things people have found that could be checked into as part of a preventive maintenance. But I hear you on "if it ainn't broke, be happy".
