BC1 broken, door locking and remote problems
BC1 broken, door locking and remote problems
Couldn't find anything really relevant here or on MINI2, so hear goes.
Prior to visiting the after sales guy at my dealer (where I negotiated the the purchase and install of the MINI alarm), my MA showed me the all the custom features I had requested. All windows down via remote being one of them. Everything worked.
The alarm install seems to have fried the BC1 module however. Right now I can't do the remote window down feature.
The question I have is (and I asked this to the SA also) -
Is it common for the doors to lock on their own if the key is in the ignition, either with the engine running or not? Twice now, I've had the doors lock on their own.
The first time was when I was showing the MINI to my parents-in-law. I had started the engine and popped the hood, I mean bonnet
, and closed my drivers door. Luckily, my wife had left the passenger door open.
The second time I pulled off to the side of the road to take some pictures, left the engine running, but this time rolled both windows down. When I returned both doors were locked
thanks!
btw - the SA's answer was along the lines of, things happen.

Locking
It is not supposed to happen if the engine is running, but I recall seeing in the book, that if you Unlock the car, but never open a door, it will relock itself after a set time.
