I have a coolant leak. Added UV dye to help locate.
Leak is coming from a temp sensor (136 326 10 GE) located on a 90deg elbow. No problem there - it's easy to locate and I can replace the O-ring.
Im confused as I know this is not the main temp sensor (which is located in the thermostat housing) and there is no wiring connector to the sensor in the elbow (and no spare wires in the vicinity that should be connected to it)
Did mini fit a redundant sensor as it was an available / cheap part?
Or has someone before me bodged a repair with a elbow connector and a 'slave' sensor.
I know from the OBD my car is registering coolant temp. It appears this sensor isn't doing anything?
Can anyone confirm?
