Low pressure fuel pump quit, need help
I’ve got a 2013 Mini Cooper s hardtop. It has 186,000 miles. Lately the car would start up and shut off shortly afterwards. I immediately diagnosed it as no fuel. I realized the pump wasn’t priming. The next day it started and ran fine so I drove it around and shut it off at a friends house. The pump wouldn’t prime again and after several days of sitting it ran again so I took it home.
I have tried doing a voltage test on the pump and from what I gathered it doesnt receive any power when it’s doing this. It’s just wierd that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And if it is working working it does not fail until after the car has been parked for upwards of a half hour from my research.
does this sound like a fuse box issue since the relay is a part of the fuse box which is apparently lnownto get water in it.
what should I try doing before i buy a used fuse box.

My only concern is the relay that is replaceable on the fuse box also controls wipers, the infotainment screen and fuel pump. So if it was going bad wouldn’t it effect those? I’ve read the main relay that controls the functions of just the fuel pump is soldered to the board of the fuse box. I might just go buy a relay to see if that helps.
Which one of these relays are you talking about. Both of them click when I turn the car on. The larger one on the left controls my display, wipers and will turn the fuel pump off. After doing more research there is a relay soldered to the board that is the main relay for the fuel pump. I’m probably going to find a way to jump power the fuel pump through a battery to see if I can get it to turn on to make sure it’s not actually the culprit

now I’m seeing the issue. The photo you shared is not how my fuse box is designed. Mine has the relays at the top and there’s only 2 of them. And the main control for the fuel pump on my car is soldered from all of the forums and google searching I’ve done. But both of my relays are still good and the fuse for the pump is also good. I’ve got to re install the fuse box tomorrow to do some voltage testing because I think I may have done it wrong the other day.
