2005 Non-S Cooper P1498 Code
2005 Non-S Cooper P1498 Code
I apologize for yet another P1498 Code thread, but I have searched the forums and the only threads for this code issue that I can find, that do NOT deal with supercharged Coopers, went unanswered or unresolved.
I have a 2005 Cooper NON-S base model, automatic (actually belongs to my daughter). So, last week, my daughter was driving and came home to tell me that it was taking an extremely long time to get up to speed. I took it out for a test drive and discovered that simply cruising around the neighborhood, under 25 mph, all "seems" to be fine. But when I take it out on the main roads and attempt to accelerate into traffic, once it hit's 30mph, it literally takes 3-5 seconds to gain 1 mph. It will eventually get up to speed, but as my daughter said, it takes forever. I can even push the pedal to the floor and nothing changes, the RPM's don't rev higher and the overdrive won't even kick in. I noticed the EML light came on so I took it to have the code read. P1498 Cold Air Injection is what came up. Looked up some possible issues and went with replacing the PCV valve. No change. Visually the vacuum hoses look ok. Just don't know where else to look or what else to check.
ANY help is appreciated!!

here is my experience with this.
seems to be a vacuum leak issue maybe related to the fuel pressure regulator
