OEM Brake Caliper Question

I cannot get the piston to compress on my rear calipers and am wondering if it is a function of age. If I order new OEM Mini calipers, would they come pre-compressed? With the calipers at 17+ Years old, it seems it is time, but it is plausible that it is user error as none of the Schwaben adapters with the kit I ordered from ECS are fitting.

In a "pinch" if you have a Large "C-clamp", that can work if you don't have proper tool to rotate it while being compressed.....

I have that exact Schwaben tool and none of the adapters seat into my piston. I was hoping that if I just bought new calipers the piston would be seated.

It takes some muscle, but I compress my rears with a pair of needle nose pliers stuck in the depressions on the piston. I just push and twist.

Kit is for MINI....with modification for pre-2007.
**MINI - Rear brake cylinder holes on select MINIs with need slightly enlarged, you will then use the standard one already on the end of the tool.***

I’d not seen any instructions at all related to enlarging the holes. I’ll give that a shot.
