R53 Repair of nipple on Fuel Tank Breather Line 139075154



Doing a low budget rebuild and used a small threaded nipple from a motorcycle application. Filed down the broken nipple, and tapped. The O-ring compressed too much and squished out so used a little Teflon tape around the threads just in case. Something similar may be done with a piece of hard plastic tube and JB Weld…or something else….maybe use the short section of hard pipe for the repair and then use flex hose from this T to the larger diameter pipe.

Old thread so a long shot.. what size threaded nipple did you use? I have the same repair to do..

 

Google carb sync nipple. Something like 5mm thread IIRC is what I had. 6mm may also work...or as the post says, a piece off tube and JB weld.
