Fuel Line Attachment

I'm having trouble attaching the fuel line to the pressure regulator on the fuel rail. The hard plastic end piece of the fuel line is a smaller diameter than the bead on the regulator side and no amount of force seems to let it snap into place. Any ideas?

Is that one of those fittings that you must push in before you try to push it over the hose?

I think ModMINI has a youtube video about the fuel rail. I have played with mine but I cannot remember what the fitting was, sorry.

As I stated in the original message, the hard plastic part of the fuel line is a physically smaller diameter than the bead on the fuel regulator pipe bead so it cannot slide over the bead. I have ordered another fuel line to determine if I did something to the line when I removed it.

Whine, can you explain why this post was "moved"? Did I originally post this incorrectly post this originally? We are still in the same section of the forum so I'm confused.

Looking at your pic it appears you have an extra black piece of plastic in the end maybe a plug of some time. Take that out and it should slide right on

That plastic thing looks like the same thing as others I've seen in photos of other Minis when doing research on this problem. ECS has a similar photo in mine on a water pump diy

Check out the black plastic end on this photo from Pelican and compare it to yours, which has a another smaller diameter black piece in the center beyond the "shoulder," as Way suggested.

That's your problem.

You posted in the R50/53 Hatch Talk section. Issues and problems are liked to be kept in this current area, Stock Problems/Issues.

No biggie as would rather have you ask the question than ask no question at all.

AoX---,
Attached is a shot I just took and my black piece only extends that far; not as far as yours. What's really keeping this thing to go back on is the soft rubber sleeve inside the hard plastic part ( 2nd shot). I don't see any barbs inside the fuel line to capture the bead on the regulator tube so I'm wondering if I buggered up the line removing it somehow. I've ordered another fuel line just in case but it will take a while to get from Mini as they are not Amazon by any means. I'll keep you posted.

On second thought, my plastic piece does stick out about as far as the Pelican part. Must be the soft rubber inner sleeve that is mis-located somehow. If the sleeve wasn't there, the plastic piece would probably slip, over the bead. I can't push or pull the rubber sleeve very far to make this get reinstalled. Hoping a new fuel line will clear up the mystery.
