help me identify this part

This is a t for boost/vacuum line that runs under the intercooler. On the back side is a much smaller diameter 't'. Well I snapped that 't'. The two thickker lines (as pictured) are harder plastic. I tried heating them up just a little to get that t off but it did not work. I was going to simply replace the plastic t fitting with a generic auto store piece.

My questions are:

1- how do I get the two hoses off the "T"
2- what do I ask for at the stealer for replacement part?

thanks

Looks to me like the line from the Fuel tank Breather valve. Tap into the rubber line off othat that. or where it used to be.

I think I tapped right at where the 6 is above. Put a common vac line T fitting there, then the clear plastic filter off that, then line to your sending unit or gauge. You will need a small section of vac line to re-connect what 6 was originally attached to. And dont be stingy, always better to have a little bit more slack than not enough.

thanks for the picture. You are absolutely correct. Now my dilemna is how to replace that piece. The lines are not your regular soft rubber vacuum lines. They are semi-hard formed plastic. I dont want to damage those lines since I am sure the dealer is proud of them.

It is being shown as one complete piece so it is form fitted at the factory I guess. I will get you the part no. and price. Could be finding one from a used MCS will be better on the wallet.

I could not find a local MINI dismantler in Denver and did not feel like paying $50 for this part right now. So I cut the broken off piece that connects to #6 in the above picture. Bored out that hole a little bit more. Inserted the "T" part of a regular vacuum that I cut off. a little super glue and I have that "t box" recreated for the time being. I figured that the boost on that line should not break the glue for at least a while.
