P1125 is a manufacturer specific code. A bit of research for MINI (BMW) the error code indicates a throttle position sensor (TPS) fault. The engine controller goes into limp mode because the engine controller does not believe it can rely upon the signal from the TPS.

If my info is right you are probably looking at having to replace the TPS or perhaps the throttle body. These components generally have no field serviceable hardware in them.

I would get INPA an give it a try. You will be able to reset your fuel adaptations which clear your 2096 code. Plus you will be able to reset your Tps as well.

Given how expensive a TPS or TB is one wants to be sure of his diagnosis. If the INPA can help in this regard then oh yeah, get one.

1689 code is gone. Jan recommended to clean TB. Now I'm getting codes 1238, 0113, 0108. Jan said it was the TMAP sensor. I changed both TMAP and MAP to be on the safe side. Same codes. Drove down to RMW and Jan put is computer on my car and said I have a bad wire or broken wire in the harness. Ordered a new Harness from BMW and in the process today changing it out. Not hard to do. Hopefully this fixes the problem with those codes.

Changed harness. Been driving car every day for last 2 weeks to work.. No codes or issues. Must have been a short with old harness like Jan mentioned.

@JOHN21BLACK , Which harness did you replaced? It fixed the P2096 code?
I have 04 MCS and got this code two days ago. I can clear it with my iCarsoft 910 and Thinkdiag TKD01 but come back after starting the car.
