You need to pull the codes, could be a zillion different things.

I did order a blue tooth from Amazon (OBD) , but it does not show clearly what is wrong , gives bunch of codes & numbers

Still a start issue, after 5 to 8 attempt it starts, All lights work fine

Post all the codes here, and somebody can probably help.

Your reader seems to be a generic OBDII and will not give you the specific codes - it seems to be just providing a status report. In my experience (maybe just my idiot local autozone), they do not usually have the correct reader to pull BMW/Mini codes.

Codes should read in numeric values. IDK if a 2009 requires it, but some Minis require reprogramming when a new battery is installed.

Thanks, my problem is car wont start (9 out of 10 times) so can not take to auto parts store, and definitely want to avoid dealer.

Do a quick Google search or thread search here to see if battery programming might be the issue. Some members with more knowledge will prob chime in today - maybe there is a hack to get her started. Good luck!

Per several threads here, if your Mini has the IBS module (little square box attached to the negative battery terminal) it will need reprogramming.

That's the Torque (or Torque Lite) app. Within the app menu (the gear icon) select Fault Codes... then Show logged faults. Screenshot those, or write down the faults given. You might also do the same with Show pending faults.

If you’re trying to pull codes

Try ordering the Schwaben nmini/bmw specific scan tool from ECS Tuning. It will pull all codes obd and mini specific. Also I could be wrong but not registering new battery will not cause it to not start. It will just fry your new battery and it may or may not last very long. Anyway try to get some codes
