Supercharger

I know this has been covered somewhere, but, i live in indiana and not a bunch of mechanics here except the shops i feel like i need to be in a suit and tie to walk into. I am just wondering...worst case scenario...what should i expect to pay to have a supercharger rebuilt and installed on a 05 cooper s convertible. I tried to ask steigemier about getting one rebuilt, after i watched the video they have posted on their site and looking up a good place to rebuild, i got a reply of 2895. Now i even had a buddy listen to the video and it clearly says 1095 for rebuild and add 200 if you want it ported, i sent a reply and asked why so high...they tell me there is a core charge, so the core is like 1800? I never get a straight answer from a shop...always well we have to see what is wrong first...which i kinda understand, but im asking...worst case...i just dont want to be caught in the headlights when i go to pick up my mini and they tell me 5k or something crazy. Any and all advice is welcome...and dont get it wrong i understand every shop charges different amounts for hourly...65-70 usually...how many hours "should" a shop have into taking the old one out and replacing it once rebuilt. And an honest rebuilder would be great
