Driver's side axle seems stuck

Any tips on getting the axle out of the trans? Put a pry bar behind to try to pop it out.
Yes it's out of the spindle side . With the passenger side out anyway to tap on the driver's axle through the trans?

I would NOT recommend trying to tap 'through' the transmission. The first time I removed the driver's side axle I was briefly stumped, but it eventually came out. I used a carpenter's pry bar; you want to get something as far in as possible. The axle is being held in place by a circle on the splined shaft that enters the transmission. Just a friction fit. It will come out eventually.

Mod MINI's video on a clutch replacement shows the "popping out" method for the driver side axle at 22:43 of this video:

I had a pry bar on it. But will give another try, I know it just snaps in. Maybe I just don't have it deep enough behind. I didn't want to damage the seal on the trans to much.
thanks for the video as well . Kinda what I was trying to do.

The seals aren’t too much money. Not a bad idea to replace them if axle is out. They probably have more than a few miles on them.

FYI:
Driver’s side & passenger side seals are separate part #s.

Try rotating it back and forth motion while popping.

Got it out, combination of moving with hands and pushing on prybar with my foot.

Good deal! When you first try it you think you’re going to break it, but they just get stuck.

I used a 1" diameter brass drift and a hammer on my car when I had to pull the axles
