'09 clubmas S TPMS light
So, I have an '09 clubby s and the tire pressure light is on, flashes when you start the car, then it fades to a solid yellow. I scanned the car for codes, and my cheap code reader says 'front right and front left inactive' and the car computer says "Inactive", and "reset" on the dash with the turn signal stalk. It wont reset. SO Iam guessing both the front TPMS are out of battery, but my question is, do I just have the new one's put in, and do they have to be "scanned" ? I bought the bright orange ones from pelican parts, and I'm not sure what to do, but I would sure be happy if that stupid low pressure light went off. Thanks for any help.

So today I took the mini to the tire shop, and they said they could take care of it, which is always the kiss of death. They put the new TPMS sensors in the car and said to drive it for 20 miles over 20 miles per hour, which is more or less impossible to do. so everything is exactly the same as it was before, but I am 130$ lighter. I am still getting the code for front right and front left transmitter inactive, any help appreciated. This is my first car with TPMS and I am a little clueless.

did you check the fuses and/or reset is from the fuse?
also, did you check of the modules are actually plugged and not chewed. they are mounted behind the wheel well on on top of the horns and the other in an equivalent location.
finally, for the heck of it, swap the rears with the fronts and see if the code moves with it

We see these issues here and there. One thing that is important is the frequency on the sensors varies based on production date so if you don't get sensors with the same frequency they will never work so that is the first thing to check. Otherwise you need someone with real factory level MINI diagnostic computer to read out all the info at it will likely tell them exactly what is going on or has a test plan to test each part. This is how we do it in our shop.
Another option since you are in SC is bring the car to us in Atlanta and we will just disable and remove the tire pressure monitoring system so you won't have to fool with it in the future or ever buy parts for it again.

OK. SO back again with a tire thread. I plugged in the sensors, and this did not fix the code. Still getting the warning light, and it still says 'system inactive,' the code does move when you change the tire, it follows the position of the tire, but the code is still there. System will not reset, all sensors are plugged in and tires are same size and properly inflated. Any help appreciated. Or I might drive down to Atlanta and blank the stupid thing of this low tire pressure nonsense.
