Lost FOB

Simple question...does the remote have to be inside the car for it to start? And if not, are they any warnings if you drive away without it? I appear to have lost mine and where I search depends on the answers.

If you comfort access, you can start the car with key inside your pocket and not the key docking. If you drive the car and the key is left behind, it will give indication of key with slash or exclamation mark on the dash.

If you dont have comfort access, the only way to start the car is via insertion or key in the docking.

I hope this helps
