60k Cam failure
60k Cam failure
Hey guys, new here and working on my first mini for a friend... what a joy!
Anyways car only has 60k miles on it and I was repairing a blown head gasket and cam across an ate up cam! I was curious if you could point me in a direction to find a stock replacement. I've googled and Ebay and can only find aftermarket cams. This his 16yr old daughters car and doesn't really care about upgrades.

Here's a pic of the cam for your enjoyment!

Yikes! that's got some wear.
+1 We have it all right here, of course, the old w11 engines are single cam, so you just need one.

Hey guys, so replaced the head, cam, rockers etc, got it all back together and had a terrible idle and would die. I threw a P1109 code: Manifold air pressure too high under deceleration. I took off the super charger put it back on and let it run for about 5 minutes and it hasn't came back on yet. But now i'm getting a strange idle that jumps up to 1500 then back down to 1000. Everything ran and idled fine before so I wonder if a TPS or MAP just happened to go bad?

Seen that many times. My theory is the previous owner didn't change the oil enough.
We sell used ones all the time for this fix

We got new ones too, but they are pretty expensive.

Hey guys, I did get a new head, cam and rockers. The issue with my idle was I found that the boot under the bypass valve wasn't all the way onto the throttle body which was causing the bypass not to function properly. All good now!
