FS New Cam Kit: APT Cam, Chilled Iron Lifters, Roller Rockers, Oil Pump
Complete cam kit for A Series engines.
The cam is a David Vizard developed APT VP7, which is a high performance mild street cam. Duration is 270 intake and 276 exhaust. Cam lift - intake .289 and exhaust .292. Suggested compression ratio is 8.5-9.5, RPM range 1600-6500. This is a good drivable cam, with a flat torque curve. There is a dyno chart in "Tuning the A Series Engine" where a mildly tuned 1380 made 96 HP with this cam and stock rockers. Designed for stock 1.25 rockers, but on 1275 engines, you can use a bit higher ratio rocker for more HP. Cam is a spider drive, ½" lobe. More info at http://www.aptfast.com/
The lifters are the no longer available APT Isky Chilled Iron lifters. These are the good ones. Perhaps the best A Series cam follower ever made. These are the best lifters for the VP7 cam.
Steel back spider drive 1275 oil pump fits above cam
Also included is a set of brand new set of 1275 roller rockers arms. These roller rockers fit onto the standard rocker shaft without any modifications. They have a 1.347 to 1 rocker ratio, which is just about perfect (and recommended by APT) for the VP7 cam in a 1275 or 1380. Made in the USA by Harland Sharp, one of the best rockers makers anywhere.
All parts are new. I prefer to sell the entire package. Price for cam, lifters, oil pump, spider drive and roller rockers is $500.00, plus shipping. If I sell just the cam, then the other parts will be for sale individually.
I also have a brand new, never used Kent 286 Fast Road/Mild race cam. Very good cam for 1275/1380. Specs: Kent reground slot drive cam. Wide lobe. 280/290 degrees duration, .388"/.400" valve lift. Timing 34/66-71/39. RPM range 2000-7500. Price $150.00 Seven sells this cam for $329
