New Cam Sprocket Bolt with New Cam ?

Has anyone swapped cams without changing the bolt ??

The reason I ask is I am doing my cam this weekend and the new bolt is back ordered so hence the question ?

Or is the bolt a normal grade 8 M12x52 bolt that I can just pick up at the hardware store ?

TIA

I've used the same one on three different cams. 20,000 miles no problem.

There is a risk the bolt may have stretched or will stretch installing the second time. I’m aware of installers who have re-used the bolt without a problem; after measuring a stretched OE camshaft bolt myself, I recommend a new bolt. ARP has a camshaft bolt kit for ten times the cost of OEM, but the MINI camshaft-locking tool will not work with it.
