Residue remover..what will work ??

I got my car back from the body shop after the rust warranty.

Looks AWESOME!!! Like NEW !!!!

But I have some kind of residue on the passenger mirror and on the inside back glass.

It looks black / gray and rough. speckles

You couldn't tell unless you look and feel real close

I tried wd-4-0 Nothing
mineral spirits...Nothing
Gasoline.....Nothing

I thought for sure ONE of these would have worked.

Anyone have any ideas ??

Much appreciated

Thank you

If they caused it, they clean it.

Try Barkeeper's Friend. I use it on the glass stove top and it DOES NOT scratch but will remove hard baked on stuff. Try it on a small spot first. It is also great for getting the tail pipes bright and shiny.

It's probably primer overspray. On the mirror, keep it wet with window cleaner while using a new single-edge razor blade. You could do the same on the back glass but there's a danger of damaging the rear defroster tapes.

Do not use a razor blade. You always run the risk of the edges of the razor digging into the glass and plastic lenses.

For the mirror just pop them out and lightly wipe them with acetone. They are not glass and will scratch easy.

For the back glass just use glass cleaner and 0000 fine steel wool and everything will come right off.
