Misaligned dashboard?

Hey all,

I posted this in another category but it didn’t get a lot of responses so I figured I’d try here to get some other thoughts/opinions.
I purchased a 2015 Cooper S Convertible as a CPO back in Feb of this year. Car only had 7,200 miles on it.
While investigating a rattling noise I noticed recently, I was looking toward the front of the car because that’s where it was coming from. ANd I noticed that it seems my dashboard isn’t pushed in all the way to where it meets the front windshield. In the picture u can see what looks like a clip that isn’t meeting where it should he connected. My dealer looked at it briefly and the service advisor said something definitely didn’t seem right. Although further inspection under the hood and of the rest of the dash didn’t yield anything else out of place or of concern. The windshield seemed to be OEM based on the markings on it. Also there were no Mini service records that indicated any work had been performed that would have warranted the dash being tampered with. I have an actual service appointment next week to bring the car back and leave it there for them to further investigate as my dealer got the ok to start pulling it apart. Anyone have any thoughts? I’m feeling really anxious, I hope it was nothing sketchy from the previous owner.

The dealer can read the mileage off of all other module to confirm nothing was replaced.

Sometimes people install additional options the might require the dash removal.

again, ask the dealer to read the mileage of the other modules. They all should be tagged.
