Engine rebuilt. New engine codes

Another day another problem. I have a 2007 R56 and had the head rebuilt in September. The car runs and drives ok but not normal or great. I have replaced the coil pack and spark plugs due to other problems along with the Vanos Solenoid on the rear of the head. The guy that rebuilt it got the timing off 1 tooth and he was a jackass so I did it again and the "timing over retarded" went away. I'm now left with these codes.

P0012 - Cam Shaft Position Actuator

P000A - Camshaft Position Sensor

P1407 - Unmetered Air

The car surges when the throttle is all the way down (new 02 sensors) and idles very rough sometimes but not always. Whenever I fill it up with gas (92 octane) the car runs super rough for about 5 minutes after. I have taken it to two specialty mini/BMW shops and they cannot pinpoint the problem. My guess is that it could be the Vanos adjustment gear? or maybe the vanos sensor on the front of the block? Let me know what you think. I have been driving it this way for months but i just want it to run right.

Thanks in advance

Was thinking it could maybe be a camshaft sensor?

When I did my '11 MCS, it was idling bad with intake camshaft errors similar to yours...I took the cover off and the indeed the timing moved maybe 30 degrees. Im not new to these engines but this was new to me. I know you did the timing again, but it is worth taking another look at it.

as for the un-metered air, there is an air pipe that plugs at the bottom elbow of the pipe going to the throttle body, get that checked out.

How can I check how many degrees the timing could be off?
