AC Not blowing cold.

Well last week was our 1st week where i needed the AC and wouldnt you know it wouldnt blow cold. Had a can of R134 left over from a recharge on another vehicle and boom cold air.... For 3 or 4 days then back to blowing hot air. Anyone have any experience with repair our ac system and any common areas that are prone to failure or leaking.

you need a flourescent dye test - recharge the system with refrigerant that contains the dye then use a UV light to find the leak. Hope it isn't under the dash. Theoretically you can DIY this, might be most cost effective to go to an AC specialist shop to do this rather than trying to DIY.

I'll throw a can of dye in it this week and see if I can find the leak myself. Fingers crossed it's just a line or maybe the condenser.

If it's not a major leak and something that has gradually occured , I think there are recharge kits that also contain leak sealants you could try.

Did just that. Bought a can of the r134a with dye and leak stop in it. If/when it stops blowing cool I'll throw a uv light on it and hope I can find the leak. Keeping my fingers crossed it's my condenser or a line. If the leaks behind my dash I'll just have to live with it.
