AC not blowing cold air anymore...

Ok so last week (during spring break) my AC started acting up on me like it would sometimes blow cold air and sometimes not. I payed a visit to the dealer to set up an appointment and the guy there tested my AC and its NOT AT ALL blowing cold air anymore. Im dropping off my car today and I'm not sure how long my car would take for them to fix it. To make it worse my prom is this weekend. I know I will have a car to use no matter what its just that I barely got my car then its giving me problems again.

Maybe it just needs a recharge.

What was the diagnosis from the dealer? And why use a dealer vs. an independent?

New compressors are not horrendously expensive via ebay, mines held up for the last year and a half. I would not pay dealer pricing on a new one.

It could be related to your earlier accident, and whatever it is you are still under warranty right? 2012

Yep im still under warranty on both the MINI dealer and the collision center that fixed my car. I chose the dealer because my car is still under warranty, Im around 10,200 miles. Anyway the car is mostly used by me but my parents pay for everything, insurance, gas, etc... I guess thats why they couldnt lend me a loaner because I am under 21 so my mom has to bring in the my MINI herself and get the loaner. Surprisingly the guy said if worse comes worse they will pay for a rental car if a loaner is not available. The disadvantages of being under 21... :(

Good call, going to the dealer is best, you should be good to go in no time, and no worries once you get older you'll want to be 20 again lol good luck

Ah, didn't realize the car was that old, and you were that new.
Are your parents open to adopting?

LOL about the "adopting". I don't think my parents would want to adopt because I already have an older brother and sister. Anyway guys I wanted to ask about BMW/MINI loaner cars. My mom is bringing in my car tomorrow at the dealer early in the morning which means she might end up with a rental car or the loaner. I wanted to ask what kind of cars do they let you use on a loaner? I ask this because my parents drive a Lexus and they always provide a Lexus car regardless. I don't know much about BMW/MINI because I am obviously new! Do they also lend you a BMW or a MINI? Not trying to hate or anything but I know for a fact that BMW/MINI is not the best when it comes to customer service.

If you've made an appointment and let your SA know that you would need a loaner car then "if" one is available it shouldn'g be an issue, when Molly was still under warranty and Rasmussen MINI was part of Rasmussen BMW we were loaned both MINIs and BMWs...just remember, it is only an "if" a loaner is available. You might call the dealership just to make sure what their policy is on loaner vehicles.

Good Luck!!

As an example, Molly is now out of Warranty and last month when there was an issue with Molly needing to be at the Dealership over the weekend and she had already been there one day, when her Driving Lights were to be installed but couldn't because of damaged parts, then she went back and the Parts Department did not order the proper grill (JCW), MINI of Portland was nice enough to give me a 2013 Roadster Auto as a loaner.

Usually if you take your MINI to a MINI dealer they will give you a loaner MINI.
