2010 Clubman overheating?

Just picked this 2010 Clubman up Monday night. First Mini.

On my way into work this morning I noticed a temperature warning. I noticed it at 99 degrees. it slowly kept crawling up, and i mean 10 degrees over 20 minutes.

Of course the bonnet release is seized on left side so could not check fluids but no other alerts.

So I am wondering what is normal temp? At what point (if any) does this little warning on screen go to a error? I tried cycling through the system info and there was no mention of alert there?

this symbol is not for the water temp. This something to do with brakes. it could be an ABS sensor. also, if you noticed, the car rolls back slightly uphill. most minis have uphill assist where the brakes are automatically applied for 3 seconds giving you a chance to move your foot off the brake to the gas paddle (in auto and manual transmission)

So your telling me I hit panic mode and lost my mind for nothing? Relief and Embarrassment all in one.

The warning could it be the Tire Pressure sensor? I have the after market rims on it right now that do not have sensors installed.

Thanks MiniToBe. Lots to learn about this thing I see.

lol...it is could to be responsive to car...you dont want to ignore thing no matter how silly or obvious it may look you still need to pop the hood to make sure everything is kosher though.

the tire pressure sensors will give you a different warning light...something like this

the light you have is more into the ABS system.

This is the symbol that I was referring to. Mechanic at the garage told me not to worry about it. So of course that has me figuring it out myself

Oh man....you had us all over the place...that symbol comes out for main errors. Once the error is cleared, that symbol goes away.

And I had that warning symbol and saw the number beside it going up. Not realizing the number beside it was the trip counter.

Been a rough week.
