Relative value, 2010 Clubman and Clubman S
Hello, forum. This may be a question that's impossible to answer, but here goes. I have a 2010 Cooper Clubman, a great vehicle, but I'm also intrigued by a 2010 Cooper Clubman S that the local dealer has on the lot. The mileage on the dealer's is nearly identical to the mileage on mine.
So my question is, what would be a fair premium to pay to trade my car for the dealer's? I know that the usual upcharge for an S is about $2,000, but that's on new cars. What should you expect on two nearly the same used cars?
Thanks, all.

Have you compared prices on like KBB.com or NADAGuides.com?
I'd be very surprised if you'd be able to get a straight trade; you 'Justa' would have to have more options than the S-model to make it fair.
Plus, on trade in, the dealer needs to still make a profit on the car they're taking in, so therefore it would be less than you selling the vehicle outright.

Run a search on cargurus .com to see the fair market for your car as well as the car in the dealer lot. It usually give you an idea if it is over priced or fair value depending on the demand. Hopefully, the dealer car may show up in your search.
Good luck and I'm very happy with my Cluman S instead of the base Clubman.
