Do you have any service lights on? I don't Know what they mean by Evap system not ready. What year is your MINI?
So to tell you what your Evap system is. It recycles vaporized fuel back into the tank rather then the environment. It turns your fuel system into a close loop.

usually a good first thing to try is a new gas cap. After that it can get a little involved. if you are talking about an r53 there is a connection for the evap system on the left side of the motor that you have to disconnect in order to remove the belt that may not have been put all the way back on.

This may help with the brake code

In terms of the Evap system on the R56 you wont necessarily throw a dash light but my still have codes stored you will need a scan tool Iknow most of the ones at most auto parts store wont always find them

I had a similar situation. Mini Cooper S 2013 R56. The Evap took over 100 miles to complete. Still had a service light, checked, the code on the dashboard controls, and it suggested it needed a confirmation of time and date. if you disconnected the battery for a substantial time, you will have to reset the time and date to get that triangle to go away
