clunk noise when release the clutch

After I replaced with the valeo single mass flywheel conversion kit at the shop, i'm having so many problem these days..
1) Kinda chatter noise on every gear at low rpm 1000-1600
2) Clutch pedal feels normal only for 10 or 15 mins (depends on how many times depressing clutch) and clutch pedal turns out sticky and i feel like something blocking or something stuck in there.
3) clunk noise when I let off the clutch.

Any advises?

With the clutch, could be the throw out bearing, was it replaced? I have heard many say the transmission mount rarely goes. You do not say what year but is the bolt from the passenger side mount tight at the shock tower?

yes, throw out bearing was replaced. I also replaced all 3 mounts about 3 months ago except the transmission mount. I don't feel vibration while driving but when stopped at signal, car vibrated. car also jerks with noise "banging like tak tak tak" when first gear and let off the gas on first gear.

In some cases the factory flywheel serves as a crankshaft dampener. Replace this with a single mass flywheel and the engine/transmssion can "chatter". The chatter arises because the factory flywheel is not there to smooth out the power pulses to the transmission. This is a downside to a light weight/single mass flywheel. (In some cases it can increase the risk of engine damage, crankshaft fracture or cam chain failure, arising from the engine's much more variable/erratic rotational speed.)

The clutch pedal behavior reads like a clutch fluid problem. The clutch hydraulic system -- sometimes connected to the brake hydraulic system -- should be flushed/bled every 2 years (or more often if the factory says so).

The clunk noise could arise because there is no cushioning of the engagement of the clutch provided for by the factory flywheel. Single mass flywheels generally come with a friction disc which has springs to help cushion the enagement. If the clutch package you installed doesn't have that...

For an example of what I'm talking about search for a Valeo Mini clutch kit and look at the friction disc. Then search out a LUK Mini clutch kit and note the disc is solid, no springs.

Here, I've saved the trouble of a search.

I would start with what is easiest to deal with and to me that would be the clutch fluid. A proper flush/bleed of the clutch fluid (and the brake fluid first if the two systems share fluid) is called for.

After you do that then road test the car and see what if any symptoms remain.

Sometimes when I welcome new members I mention how many threads there are here on NAM. I also say that when you add the NAM members and vendors into the mix you have a great resource of knowledge.

Rockc just proved my point.

Did you replace the throw out bearing guide tube? Did you clean and lube everything when the job was done?

Improperly cleaned and lubed clutch components will feel and perform less than satisfactory.

The slave cylinder not being bled properly would give you a poor pedal feel, not so much a clunk on engage/disengage.

I didn’t replace the guide tube. I brought the valeo clutch conversion kit and redline manual transmission fluid and rear main seal in the shop so i have no idea if they cleaned them..yeah i think the slave cylinder not being bled properly.
It feels smooth or stiff randomly. I might have to replace clutch slave and bled all together. If transmission mount is bad, car clunks when engage/disengage?

Yea, i would check that line for air and bleed it, also check the slave cylinder. It might be a little sticky. Only thing else i would look at is the pivot bushings. But they create a creaking noise.

I've not seen a trans mount failed to the point of causing drivability issues, but if hardware for any of the mounts is loose that could definitely give you a clunk on engagement.

The fact that your saying it feels stiff or smooth randomly makes me wonder if any of the bushings or guide tube were cleaned and lubed. I've driven too many cars that people didn't replace the guide tube, or didn't properly lube certain components and you get a "sticky spot" in the pedal.

Do you feel air in the pedal? As in free play? There will be a very small amount of free play in the pedal assembly, but you can feel if there is a cushion of air you are stepping on, or if you are moving a cleanly bled system.

hmmm I don't think i can feel air in the pedal. the weird thing was that when driver's side axle was replaced, clutch pedal feels normal like the first day when the clutch was replaced. it was so light and smooth but it only took 2-3 days and it turns out to be sticky again. I guess you are right i don't think they cleaned guide tube or bushings while replaced. I might have to try flush or bled clutch slave
