Replacing drive belt without removing wheel?

I have a belt tensioner tool, jack, and jack stands. However, my driveway has been recently been paved. I don't risk marring the new tarmac with a jackstand.

Is it possible to replace the drive belt (power steering belt) without removing the wheel?

Without removing the wheel yes, without jacking it up? That may be tricky but doable.

How about putting the jack stand on a sheet or piece of plywood?

You can always buy a set of ramps from the local parts store for about $50 for a nice set. I've got a set of Rhino Ramps that I use for quick access to under car.

yep - just spread the load over a bit of wood and they won't dig into even soft pavement.

+1 We are required to do this at VIR. They don't want their pavement chewed up by race jacks and jack stands. The amount of time saved by removing the wheel and wheel well liner will be well worth a couple of sheets of plywood.

I have installed a new serpentine belt on the side of the road. It is possible to put a new belt on, logic would say it's possible to take the old one off.

Tensioner is a different story.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions!

This belt noise is driving me crazy.
