Understanding that the MINI S is Front Wheel Drive - there should be more sales in the Northeast vs Rear Wheel Drive will only draw attention to the men/women suffering from a mid-life crisis and having a sporty second car to drive when the weather is nice. What about gas mileage? Think about it. I guess the MINI S is more of a practical car for the almighty road!

The Mini cooper S is well thought out... Just like you pointed out, if it were rear wheel drive, there would be a huge gap in sales in the NE! Honestly, have you ever tried to drive a Volvo in a snow storm? Not the best idea! Also with front wheel drive cars, you always seem to get more traction to the pavement because of the weight of the engine, and this leaves you with longerlasting rubbers because you probally don't spin your tires as much. One last point... If the Mini's were rear wheel drive, then there would probally be NO back seats.. You'd have to find room to fit a rear diff, and that would take up some room...
