HELP...PVC hose routing

I need either a picture or drawing or something that shows the routing of the PVC hoses under the intercooler.

I am taking off my ALTA Oil-Catch can and putting things back to normal and I can't find a picture or diagram good enough anywhere to go by.

I took my car for its 10k service (well it was actually 14k) - and I had the ECU upgraded to v36.x. After driving it a bit the Service Engine Soon light came on. I called the dealer and he said it was emissions (the dealer is 2hrs away). They also gave me greif about my larger intercooler and catch can so I am putting things back to stock and seeing if that fixes the problem.

I don't mind replacing the parts back to stock because I found some problems with the ALTA intercooler and Catch can. My intercool had a small hole in it and I was seeing oil gundge build up in the loer left on the outside fo the intercooler. The Oil-catch can is don't NOTHING - I have not see anything in the can and I drive hard enough for there to at least be something.

So I want to go back to stock and fix my SES light with the dealer with everything at stock.

Need pic or diagram in a bad way - thanks.

Basically, route the PCV hose back to the grey supercharger inlet (That alta says to cap off) and the vent hose on the other side of the engine to the tube going into the throttle body and you'll be back to normal. I'll agree w/ you in that the Alta can won't really catch oil. I went and bought an aluminum catch can and installed it inline of the PCV and S/C inlet. This method does catch oil, but if you try this with the alta can, it will deform pretty badly because of being under vacuum. I think the alta can is more of an engine dress up than anything else.

So I got everything back to stock and the car is running better.

After taking off the Oil-Catch, I saw that the mounting hardware seemed to have failed and this was not allowing the proper pressure to happen in the can.

I hope this fixes the SES code and I don't have to go 2hrs to the dealer.

If you disconnect the grey hose from the engine as per the instructions you will not get as much oil in the can for one main reason........YOU ARE NO LONGER SUCKING OIL OUT OF THE VALVE COVER. You are only relying on the intake vacuum. The Alta can will never have a lot of oil in it if connected properly. The oil is staying where it needs to be, under the valve cover.

Hi Scott,

I suppose your statement is correct. However, consider this.... you can achieve pretty much the same result (As having the alta can installed, but without the can) by just capping off the S/C inlet and running the PCV hose and other vent hose directly to the throttle body hose without the alta can in place and save $120. Which kinda makes the Alta can mostly engine dress-up more than anything else. Hooking a can inline of the PCV and S/C inlet isn't "Sucking" anything more than is already going through that hose during normal operation w/ no can installed. Just catching some of the oil out of the vapor before going through the S/C inlet.

But I am still geting residue in my can. Residue that is no longer coating the inside of my intake system and IC. So we are both getting a benefit from having a catch can installed.
