Anyone else's power steering pump and the surrounding area look like the pump has exploded? Despite not losing any fluid from the reservoir the underside of my car is always a mess. (I did have a loose hose clamp at one time that caused a leak, but this was after I already noticed the mess.) I may post a picture later for reference.
The stock crimp clamps used on the PS feed, return, and pump end of the feed line leak over time, they compress the hose and loose tension causing leaks. We replace them with a worm style clamp that fixes those leaks for good.
You could also have a leak at the return line, there is a crimped section where the line goes from metal to rubber and is a notorious leak point.
We have the return line in stock and ready to ship, we can even include the worm clamps we use to fix those crap stock clamps.

Thanks, I plan on cleaning it all up to see where it's coming from. I figured since the pump is notorious to fail and mine makes noise that I would wait for that to happen and re-do the lines at the same time, but if the pump keeps living and I get annoyed enough with the ugly mess, I may just do the lines. My pump has shown no signs of failure yet and I went from 73-84k since I bought the car. ('02 r50)

FWIW, to my knowledge my car still has the factory PS pump in it, I'm closing in on 133xxx miles.
If you decide to tackle the lines we have everything instock ready to ship, we'd also be glad to help with any install questions you may have.
You're sure it's P/S fluid that you're seeing? Our R53 had a big mess under it when we got our hands on it. Here's what it looks like from our PS pump article. A picture would help. I'd also investigate a little ways up and make sure nothing may be dripping down and making something down there to appear as if it's leaking. You can clean up the area well and keep your eye on it. I just had to do this recently while tracing down a very tricky oil leak on my car. Was dripping down on a lot of things and was hard to find the source. It didn't help that my P/S line was leaking pretty bad as well, but I knew it wasn't the source of this particular leak due to knowing that line was in bad shape for some time. Anyways, I'd clean up everything and keep a close eye on things to try and determine the source.

Someone's already replaced the lower clamp in your picture. Have you checked the two clamps on the reservoir in the engine bay? Mine were leaking and followed the hose down and made a mess down below just like the pictures. If the reservoir has the original crush clamps you can try replacing them with hose clamps. If that does not stop the leak, the kit above will. I just used that kit last week along with a quart of fluid.
It took a while to clean up the mess with rags!

Yeah I noticed the clamps were changed, I tightened them up myself when I developed an actual leak at the top ones. I'm pretty sure the mess is just from a past case of what I dealt with.
Mine was exactly like yours ..leaks at the top 2 hoses and trickled down below and made a mess ...What i did was use heavy duty Zip ties 1 above the original crush clamp and 1 below it on both hoses ...no more leaks after 1 year and 15,000 miles ....Easy and inexpensive fix ....
