Post Pics of you MINI with the rim size

Looking at rims and can't decide on what size. Please post pictures and tell us what size rim and tire you have. Also if you're willing, explain why you chose to go with it. Thanks in advanced. I can't wait to get some black rims for my ice blue MINI.

Hope that worked. Lol. 16x7 MB Motoring "weapon", I think, in gunmetal grey. I live on a dirt road, so going 17 or 18 with tiny sidewalls would not work for me.

Hey! Thanks for the input. I really like the color combination. The BRG MINI look nice. Did you keep run flats?

Thanks! I thought black would be too much. I ditched the runflats. Running Cooper CS5 Ultra Tourings. 205/50/16. Got almost 10k from my first set of those tires. Then got a free set.....well, $131.00 for the 4 shipped to me, due to wearing out too rapidly. I guess they thought these would last 50-60k. Not on my MINI. LOL. I am currently burning through this set at about the same rate. I drive a bit aggressively, and live in the hills, so.....I guess no tire will last the "advertised" distance. Up next is a set of 4 Goodyear Assurance tires. I figure to burn those out quickly as well. We shall see.

Lol its hard not to drive these cars hard. They basically beg you to do it which isn't fair for me cause when it comes to my car I'm a push over. I want to get away from the run flats. The ride it too harsh and I heard they weigh a lot. I haven't decided what kind of tirestuff to get. I want something performance oriented but affordable. I'm just worried about getting a flat with no backup except fix a flat lol.

17 and 18" wheel are the most popular for MINIs in the spring / summer. The bigger the size the rougher the ride unless you get non runflat tires or a good smooth tire.

That's kind of the style of rims I would want to get. I would just have to lower it to get rid of the wheel gap. What kind of hood scoop is that? M7 vortex? It looks good though. I want to get a black one.

I have lowering springs ready to go I'm just waiting for winter to be over.

It's the notch hood scoop from Outmotoring. My OEM one flew off my car.

AFN704, my "fix" for a flat (should one happen) is the MINI Mobility Kit, basically a 12v air compressor, a can of fix-a-flat, and some neat white gloves. LOL. I have also augmented my kit with a few tire plugs, and the two tools needed to ream the hole and install the plug. This will work fine if I simply pick up a small screw or nail in the tread, but will be useless for a sidewall puncture, tire coming apart, or a large hole in the tread area. For those potential BAD failures, I have AAA Roadside Assistance.

ECS, that kit is different from mine. I guess I have the old version. Mine does not automatically inject the fix-a-flat, and I am not sure I would want that. I figure all I need is the plug kit that I have added and the compressor. And the white gloves in my kit, LOL. I still have no jack, though. That would be useful, especially if the tire has come off of the bead. Anyone have a line on a small, lightweight jack?

Yes the older version. The newer version can be automatic or not.

You could get the jack here : 71121501930

and the bag : 71116762181

and wrench : 71126779731

Damn those look really nice. Did you paint your wheel arches or did they come like that? I'm not really a fan on the standard ones. I want mine to be gloss black.

I have a question about this. It might sound stupid for some.
I am about to buy a new set of 18 inch wheels for my mini, but still haven't decided on the tires. I like "low" tires and I'm on a budget, but don't want to ruin this.

Which of these tire sizes would look and work nicer on my Mini?
215/40/R18
205/35/R18
205/40/R18

My Mini is an S Hatchback from 2008. No spacers or anything.
