2013 cooper Heater issue
2013 cooper Heater issue
Started the car today to let warm up. Car started just fine and turned on the heated seats and works just fine. Went to turn on defrost for the windows and nothing. Tried all the ***** and nothing. The unit is dead. Stopped the car and turned back on and still nothing. The unit is the auto comfort model and all ***** do not function. Once I get home this evening I will breakout the Bently manual and start diagnosing. Has anyone experienced this and possible causes. Thanks
My blower motor is out. I've only had the (2013 pre-owned) car for two weeks and already I have to bring it in for a warranty fix.
My appointment is on thursday. I'll let you know what the fix was.
Not sure we have the same problem, though. The display in my automatic climate control works fine. All the buttons change the screen accordingly. But even though pushing the fan up button makes the bars go across the display, there's no actual airflow.

Did you figure out the issue?

Not sure if you're asking me or the OP, but I actually just got my car back last night, and was going to update this thread today.
I brought it in last thursday, and they called and said they needed to order a new part so they'd need it friday as well. Then they called late friday and said the part was installed, but they still needed to "reprogram" the car and wanted to keep it for the weekend.
Monday they called and said the reprogramming was done, but during a test drive it threw a new code indicating that the fuse box had a problem so they needed to order that as well. They installed that tuesday (yesterday), and I picked it up last night.
All seems well so far. I asked if it was the fuse box that caused the blower problem in the first place and they said it was certainly possible.
Here's what's on my invoice:
7993 CONFIRMED BLOWER MOTOR INOP. CONNECTED BATTERY CHARGER AND RAN SHORT TEST. FOUND NO RELATED FAULTS. CHECKED FOR POWER AT MOTOR. FOUND NO POWER. REMOVED IHKA AND FOUND THERE WAS NO VOLTAGE COMING FROM THE IHKA TO THE MOTOR. FOUND VOLTAGE AT THE JBE. REPLACED IHKA AND REPROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE. UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAMMING THERE WAS A CODE STORED THAT WOULD NOT CLEAR. SEE LINE D.
D** T/N FAULTS STORED IN THE JBE AFTER PROGRAMMING. WARRANTY REPAIR
61-35-3-457-580 FUSE BOX SPEG HIGH:613020
7993 FOUND FAULT CODE 9C59 CONTROL SIGNAL BLOWER OUTPUT STAGE. RAN TEST PLAN AND FOUND THAT THE VOLTAGE COMING OUT OF THE JBW WAS INSUFFICIENT AND DROPPING OUT WHEN MOTOR WAS TURNED ON. REPLACED THE JBE WITH DIAG CODE D6450_IHx00000_90_001. PROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE AGAIN. BLOWER MOTOR FUNCTIONS ARE NOW OPERATING AS INTENDED.
Hope that's helpful to someone!

Glad they figured out your issue. Curious as to what the OP found when he did some diagnostic work as well. For the OP, do you hear the flaps working? Some info on a bad blower motor HERE. If needed, blower motor parts/resistors HERE.

That's good it was covered, all this to go bad in the beginning or at all, is kind of rare. You should be fine now.
