While my back seats were down I noticed the bracket had two possible positions:

Is this just to give the trunk more space when the seats are up? The seats don't seem very comfortable in the more upright position.

Any thoughts?

 

Guess I never really stopped and thought about that bracket and a second position, even after removing the back seats twice to replace the 6x9's. I just laid the back seats down when I needed more cargo space.

 

Yep, passenger can sit there , while more upright, and you gain more room in the trunk. Make sure they are all the way up and the back rest snaps and lock in.
