Any reason why you're needing that style? The oil filter support is no longer needed as the current version oil filter has a built-in support. 11427563763 here.

Part of the plastic filter support is broke off on mine, got damaged when a filter with the inner support was install to the old style cap.
Any one out there have a oil filter housing cap for a base 03 Cooper? I'm looking for the original style with the plastic center support, thanks AL.
You will have to either get the entire housing with the new style that no longer has the plastic insert. Or have to find a used one, but most of them were broken or thrown away over the years.
Sorry but NO you can not just put the new style cap on your old housing as it won't push the filter down far enough and the oil pressure light will stay on.
We have the new housings avail if you need a new one. http://www.waymotorworks.com/oil-fil...52-cooper.html

I have a cap you can have but I am not sure it's the one you need. Artoo was build October 2003 so it's early in the build year. But there is no plastic inside the cap. It's all aluminum.
If it's the one you need, no problem as I bought it before I realized that getting it on was not a function of the cap but just technique.

Do I need to replace the complete oil filter housing to use your newer cap? One of the members said I needed to change out everything, please advise, thanks, AL.
