2007 Uncommanded Engine Shutdown

All,
Own a 2007 Mini Cooper S convertible. Great car but had a something happen twice that needs an explanation.

First time I was in a parking lot going very slow and in the drive (D), it is an automatic, getting ready to make a turn at the end of the parking lot to find a parking spot. Then engine shutdown. Put the gear in park (P) and the car started right up.

Second time I was pulling up to stop light and the engine shut off. I believe the transmission was in the +/- manual mode.

Any ideas? ECU? Fuel pump? Any history on these cars with Fuel pumps going at 76k?

Thanks,
JBC

Back again. I am now suspecting the electronic throttle or a sensor that console the throttle body or even, maybe, the engine harness. Thoughts?

You need to start with having the codes pulled from the car, that will give a general direction to point diagnostic.

Is there oil in the car? Cars that are severely low on oil will fight to stay running and stall at low rev.
